Borderland Reads - Summer 2007

The title for the next Borderland Reads is "Code Talker" by Joseph Bruchac. This book while a novel recounts the story of the Navajos during World War II and their very important mission to serve as code talkers using their language in code to transmit messages that the Japanese couldn't break.

The title is appropriate for families to read together, especially for children in upper elementary and above. The library will hold a discussion of the book on Tuesday, August 7th at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.

The Friends of the Library have purchased 25 copies of the book and they are available for checkout now. Spend some time this summer reading this wonderful book and discussing it with family, friends and strangers.
